1st Snow!

As I'm sure everyone else did, we hurried out this morning and got a brief play in the snow. Since the girls have been so sick, I knew it was only going to be for a second. I kmow they are feeling better, but we gotta play on the safe side. We definitely enjoyed our 10 minutes of the white stuff.

Oh Christmas Trees...

We are definietly into full swing Christmas around here. All day yesterday, Clint and I cleaned and I mean REALLY cleaned the entire house so we could put up the Christmas trees today. It's funny, you would never know how much we cleaned yesterday especially if you looked in the Christmas storage room right now. Anyway, I decided last year that I wanted to put up a couple more trees. So, the week after Christmas last year, I got a couple of ideas in my head and loaded up on Christmas trees and decorations up to 90% off. I was so excited to get to see them all up. I absolutely LOVE this time of year and having Christmas trees light up our home. It just makes you feel good.

Bella and Brynlee had a blast helping me. Well, all Brynlee wanted to do was pull everything off especially the beads. Bella was a huge help on the main tree by putting up over half of the ornamants. Of course we were jamming to Christmas music the whole time. Hopefully soon I will get my little sweeties in their Christmas jammies for pictures under the tree.

Here is the main living room tree. It's actually the 3rd year I've done the red and silver theme. The 10 foot tree is so big and takes forever to decorate, but I love the final outcome.

This is one of our new trees. It's a green and gold woodsy theme with gold glittered pinecones. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. I'm going to monogram a big "M" on the tree skirt, too.

This is my favorite new tree. I came up with this diva tree idea last year and got so many fun things for it for really cheap. Zebra and hot pink are one of my favorite combinations to dress the girls in, and the tree matched perfectly in Bella's pink and black room.

Turkey Shows up at Thanksgiving Dinner

Local News Story

The Famous Turkey

Ok, this is a story to remember the rest of our lives. Yesterday, the entire Yother family was sitting down to our normal routine of Thanksgiving dinner when all of the sudden my mom yells that a turkey is in the back yard. Ok, remember we are in the middle of East Brainerd right behind Hamilton Place mall...nowhere near any fields or typical turkey terrain. Lo and behold a wild turkey had flown into the back yard and was strutting around pecking into the glassed in back patio. Everyone rushed out to take pictures, just assuming he would fly away or something. However, he didn't. He had found a new home. He stayed all day long. Even after the sun went down he roosted up in a folding TN chair on my aunt and uncle's back patio.

Of course, we the Messer's are known for our love of exotic animals. Clint bought me a baby pink pig for our very first Valentine's day. I adored her, painted her toenails, and even walked her on a leash through the neighborhood. Sure enough, she grew out of control and we had to give her to a farm.

Next, Clint wanted Bella to have some real baby ducks. We raised 2 small peking ducks until they were full grown. We didn't even have them caged. They stayed around the house and never left the back yard. Unfortunately, our neighbor accidentally ran over one of them and the other one went MIA. He was there one day and gone the next.

So I say all that to say this....Yesterday, I could tell Clint's "wheels were spinning." I mentioned that we should bring the turkey home since he loved us and all. Well, that's all Clint neee to hear. So, we are now proud owners of a pet turkey. He really is sweet and will let you hold and pet him. We first named him Thomas, but because of the recent celebrity status he has just been upgraded to we are trying to think of a name with a little more pizazz.

A friend a mine, Kay Blevins, who is also great friends and neighbors with my brother and sister-in-law works for Channel 9. Jodi called her just to see if there was a hotline at the station that you could call just to report an interesting story. We thought they might need a cool Thanksgiving story and obviously the turkey wasn't going anywhere. Sure enough, they were very interested and sent a camera man over within the hour. They did a hilarious re-inactment of the whole experience. Well, little did we know until after we got up this morning that somehow Good Morning America got hold of the footage too! This morning, they showed the story live on GMA. Isn't that crazy! So, now the Messer's are proud owner's of a famous pet turkey. Any name suggestions?? We were thinking something on the line of Glam or Sparkle. Lol. It was definitely a Thanksgiving I will never forget.

20 Weeks

Ok, we are on the downhill track now! The end of March will be here before we know it. Our little man is doing so well. I am fortunate of having a posterior placenta this time, so I feel him kick ALL the time. This is my last pregnancy, so I want to enjoy EVERY second of it. I am feeling fantastic and can't believe I'm over halfway until the day I meet my son. It's unbelievable.

Things are actually pretty crazy around the house. We have lived here 6 and a half years. Clint and I bought the house the summer before we got married. We only planned on being here a couple of years, but little did we know we would bring 3 children home to this house. It is, however, only 1900 square feet so we are OUT OF ROOM! Actually, we've been out of room and now it just seems impossible to bring another child home here. For sentimental reasons though, I want to. We will make it work, and then move next summer. We are having to get very creative on rearranging to make room for our little man. So exciting!

We are getting much closer on naming our boy. As a matter of fact, we are pretty much set on a name. We are just in the 1-2 week phase where we call him by the name just to make sure it "fits." It's funny how when you are testing a name, it's always by scolding him....lol. Anyway, everything is fabulous with our little peanut. Here are some of the latest ultrasound pics from 10 weeks.

Let's Party!

Last night we celebrated Brynlee's 1st birthday. We decided we wanted very low key and NO pizza. So, I cooked a meal and we had all the family up to celebrate. We ate until we popped. Mom made the fabulous cake and Gigi's made Brynlee's princess cupcake. It was great night to celebrate such a swest little girl. Thank you everyone for all of the gifts. She (and Bella, too) loves them.
